Patient Service Specialist
Summary: The Patient Service Specialist is the voice of the organization and is the primary resource for patients and physicians to obtain information and answers to questions. This position is primarily responsible for accurately, thoroughly and in a time-sensitive manner processing patient orders and providing clear and timely communication to all stakeholders.   
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Proficient in all Patient Service Associate core responsibilities.
  • Understands when to use and how to properly complete an Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABN) as applicable.
  • Thoroughly understands how to process payer authorizations and follows up on request frequently and timely.
  • Establishes positive relationships with referral sources, other departments and centers, and associated entities.
  • Contacts patients with patient financial responsibility and consistently collects payments from patients prior to delivery when applicable.
  • Meets QA score of 85% or above consistently.

Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED equivalency with 1-3 years of home infusion/home health, customer service, call center, or insurance experience preferred.  Strong organization and communication skills.
Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
