Job Description

Summary: The Patient Service Lead is the voice of the organization and is the primary resource for patients and physicians to obtain information and answers to questions. This position is primarily responsible for accurately, thoroughly and in a time-sensitive manner processing patient orders and providing clear and timely communication to all stakeholders
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Sets the working example for other Patient Service Representatives in business acumen and knowledge and assists the Supervisor in the performance of their managerial duties.
  • Understands and abides by Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) requirements.
  • Thoroughly understands how to process payer authorizations and follows up on request frequently and timely.
  • Performs accurate and timely insurance verifications and accurately obtains patient specific benefit information and coverage guidelines.
  • Understands and obtains all documentation to support medical necessity as appropriate per payer.
  • Contacts patients with patient financial responsibility and consistently collects payments from patients prior to delivery when applicable

Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED equivalency with 1-3 years of home infusion/home health experience preferred.  Strong organization and communication skills. Strong leadership skills.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
