Summary: Responsible for negotiating cost effective pricing with vendors. This individual will execute purchase orders timely and accurately.  In addition, the employee will expedite, forecast, bid contracts, problem solve, and create reports that support purchasing decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 
  1. Searches for vendors, obtains quotes, negotiates pricing, and works with leader to develop the best pricing platform
  2. Coordinates daily purchase order activity for assigned branches.
  3. Responsible for coordinating all credit application information to the Accounts Payable department on new account set-up requests.
  4. Assists in maintaining ordering system information accuracy by providing updates on price, product, and supplier information.
  5. Collaborates with all supporting departments to assist in the development of materials management practices to ensure cost-effective programs.
  6. Reviews and approves supplier discrepant invoices for assigned branches using designated Accounts Payable system.
  7. Utilizes purchasing reporting to monitor trends increase or decrease in spend verses budget, uses for forecasting and or delays on purchased goods. Consolidates bids to review best practice operation.
    Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
  8. Assists in the development and implementation of Purchasing policies and procedures to support company goals and budget.
  9. Acts as a resource for all departments regarding product/supply support.
  10. Verifies requests are all approved by approved approvers for company.
  11. Validates product formulary on all order requests.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. 2 years’ experience in a purchasing environment working with contracts, vendor relations, and product knowledge.
  3. Basic Microsoft Excel
  4. Must be detail oriented with good organizational and communication skills.
  5. Requires critical thinking, problem solving, strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
  6. Must be able to utilize persuasion and negotiating skills.
    Computer Skills:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic Word Processing skills. Will be required to work in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other software programs as assigned.
