Job Description

Summary: The Administrative Assistant provides personnel and administrative support services as well as handling a wide variety of situations involving the administrative functions of the office.  Also, coordinates day to day operational activities for the department and relies on experience and judgment to help facilitate efficient workflow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Organizes, develops and implements an office system to enhance the smooth operation of the office/center.
  • Responsible for ensuring organizational effectiveness efficiency, and timely flow of information.
  • Prepares a wide variety of administrative reports, statements, correspondence, forms, charts, statistical tables, records, purchase orders, and rosters.  Gathers data and other necessary information.
  • Assists management personnel in monitoring and organizing paperwork requirements.
  • Establishes, maintains, and revises record keeping and filing systems.
  • Classifies, sorts and files correspondence, records and other documents.

Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED equivalency. BS degree in Business or related field preferred.  Must be skilled in typing, word processing and familiar with office equipment.  Must be computer literate with ability to design spreadsheets, organized and professional, have strong oral and written communication skills, and be a team player who will assist where needed.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
