POSITION SUMMARY: The Account Manager at Preferred Homecare/Comprehensive Sleep Solutions/LifeCare Solutions is responsible for all sales activities in a specified territory. The Account Manager represents LifeCare Solutions consistently to the referral community. Account Managers are accountable for territory sales activities that produce a consistent flow of new referrals for Key Profitable Therapies. Account Manager is directly responsible for profitable top line branch sales growth. Daily customer sales contact occurs with physicians, hospital case managers, home health agencies, and other potential referral sources in the territory. Account Managers bring a steady stream of business opportunities to Preferred Homecare/Comprehensive Sleep Solutions/LifeCare Solutions. An Account Manager is expected to bring new contracting opportunities to the company and may participate in the contract negotiation process. Spearheads daily interaction with General Manager, Field Sales Team, current referral sources, and targeted new referral sources.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: College degree or 5 years relevant selling experience. Minimum of two years work experience in the health care industry. Experience with customer service required. Knowledge of the territory and sales contacts preferred. Demonstrates leadership, and communicates effectively with branch personnel and local account team.

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Sales and Marketing with additional responsibility to the Branch General Manager

MENTAL DEMANDS: Proven skills in critical thinking and problem solving, strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities. Responsibly manages details. Account Manager displays leadership daily. Innovative thinking and planning. Uses good judgment and works well under pressure. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks successfully.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, and crouching. Frequent standing, walking, and sitting. Must be able to regularly lift 15 pounds. Travel to outside locations, using own vehicle, and occasionally requiring overnight stay, as required for meeting and/or presentations.

MATERIALS AND SPECIAL EQUIPMENT USED: Telephone, computer, printer, fax machine, photocopier, and calculator.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work is generally performed in customers’ offices under normal office conditions, with good lighting and proper ventilation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrate the initiative to become an expert in the knowledge of the therapies and services offered by Preferred Homecare/Comprehensive Sleep Solutions/LifeCare Solutions.

Develop territory Business and Sales/marketing plan to present to VP of Sales and GM.

Assist the VP of Sales and GM in the setting of sales goals by therapy and payor mix for your assigned territory.

Brings 3 new sales opportunities per week to the company by making sales calls on new customers and new customer referrals.

Effectively closes by asking for the business.

Effectively asks questions and listens to understand customer needs and identify new opportunities.

Maximizes penetration by spending 5 days per week in the field calling on customers.

Makes a minimum of 10-12 quality sales calls per week with key decision makers.

Completes all sales reports as scheduled and submits to VP of Sales and GM.

Completes all expense reports on a timely basis and submits to GM.

Exceeds territory sales plan and profitability objectives.

Participates in targeting, prioritizing new potential referral sources.

Participates in sales training programs to assure competence in all aspects of job requirements.

Participates in weekly sales/management meetings to insure appropriate communication to other branch departments about sales activities.

Effectively leads and communicates with all departments in the Branch.

Leader of a customer focused LOCAL ACCOUNT TEAM and coordinates activities to pursue new business.

Maintains account profile activity records via an automated account tracking program such as ACT! and can produce customer records upon request.

Gives high priority to client satisfaction and customer needs.

Identifies and resolves customer service issues in territory.

Keeps VP of Sales and GM apprised of competitive activities in your territory through weekly sales reports.

Reads Industry publications and keeps appraised of ongoing industry changes.

Participates in local/national professional organizations

Participates in PHC/CSS/LCS Quality Outcomes Program.

Other duties, as assigned.
